Last night I met ...

Yusef who looks 60 and is probally 40 years old.

He is very worried about how the war will affect his family.
They are Turkish Kurds living in the effectively free area of northern Iraq.
He worries that the Turkish army will take advantage of the chaos and occupy the region

Then he opens his wallet and shows me a picture of his relative and hero Abdullah Ocalan.

A worrying conversation

A reliable source tells me that there is a rumour in his community that you will get leave to remain if you have lost a child here.
I desperately hope that he is wrong.

Two infants have died in that community in this country in the past four months.

Rachel's war is a series of emails from an American peace activist in Gaza. She was killed by an Israeli army bulldozer at the weekend.
