Don't talk to me about lawyers!
As a followup to the M deportation case I wrote about on 2003-08-11.
M has now been advised by her lawyer G to take a case for judicial review of the process to the high court.
What are the grounds for the review?
That she was not given the chance to make a personal appearance at the Refugee Appeals Tribunal that reviewed her case. The pre-appeal paperwork allows you to decide if you want an oral hearing or a document-only review of the case.
Who advised her not to exercise her option for an oral hearing?
Lawyer G of course!
Who is going to take 1500 Euro from her and her children before she is finally deported?
Lawyer G of course!
Is there anything in the lawyers code of ethics that require them to act in the best interests of their client I wonder? Silly question!
